Peconic Landing in Greenport will offer five days of free wellness, fitness and educational programs to the public Oct. 5 through Oct. 9 as part of Active Aging Week.

The schedule includes qigong, guided walks, stretching, Zumba, chair yoga, dance lessons, bocce and a program featuring live birds of prey from the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.

“We’re excited to welcome the greater community to Peconic Landing for Active Aging Week,” CEO Robert J. Syron said in a statement. “The week reflects the energy and enthusiasm that define our community, with opportunities to move, learn, connect and try something new.”

Active Aging Week is organized by the International Council on Active Aging and promotes healthy, active living among older adults.

Peconic Landing has received national recognition from the council for its wellness programs, ranking No. 1 among senior living communities for wellness in North America in 2024 and among the top five in 2025.

Monday, Oct. 5

  • 9:30 a.m. — Qigong for Movement
  • 11 a.m. — Stroll Around Campus, a guided walking tour
  • 3 p.m. — Live music by AKM: Aiming for the Key of Music

Tuesday, Oct. 6

  • 10:30 a.m. — Super Slow Stretch, featuring gentle stretching and mobility
  • 2 p.m. — Live Birds of Prey with Quogue Wildlife Refuge

Wednesday, Oct. 7

  • 8:30 a.m. — Zumba
  • 11 a.m. — Chair Yoga
  • 2 p.m. — Ballroom dance lessons with Alexandra Binder of Blue Collar Ballroom
  • 2 p.m. — Dancing with Parkinson’s
  • 3:15 p.m. — Latin dance lessons with Binder

Thursday, Oct. 8

  • 1 to 3 p.m. — Bocce: Open Play

Friday, Oct. 9

  • 7 p.m. — “Have You Heard a Good Book Lately?” lecture by award-winning audiobook narrator Gerard Doyle
