The Jamesport Meeting House Chorus is recruiting new members as it prepares for two holiday concerts in December, including a performance at Peconic Landing in Greenport.
The community chorus, directed by Marguerite Volonts, will begin rehearsals Monday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jamesport Meeting House, 1590 Main Road in Jamesport.
The group is scheduled to perform a holiday-themed program at Peconic Landing on Dec. 17 and at the Jamesport Meeting House on Dec. 20.
No previous choral experience is required, and prospective members do not need to audition or register in advance.
“All that is required is a desire to sing,” organizers said in announcing the recruitment effort.
The chorus is open to singers interested in joining the group for its fall rehearsals and December performances. New members can attend the Sept. 28 rehearsal or contact Volonts at 631-687-7050 for additional information.
Chorus members are asked to contribute $20 to cover the cost of music.
