One of the North Fork’s most recognizable waterfront restaurants has undergone a major transformation. The team behind the historic Claudio’s complex announced this week that Claudio’s Restaurant has officially become Amalfi at Claudio’s, a new Italian coastal dining concept that opened Thursday, July 9, at the Greenport marina.

The restaurant is the North Fork sister location to the popular Amalfi restaurant in Hampton Bays and introduces a menu inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast, with an emphasis on seafood, handmade pastas and classic southern Italian cuisine.

The new concept had originally been slated to debut before the start of the summer season. Instead, ownership chose to keep the restaurant operating while final details were completed rather than leave the dining room vacant during the busy tourist season.

“Now, in the heart of summer, visitors can experience the restaurant as it was always envisioned with a refreshed menu, Italian flavors and an atmosphere inspired by the Italian coast,” the company said in announcing the opening.

The menu features shareable appetizers including Nonna’s Meatballs, an Antipasto Classico with imported Italian meats and cheeses, Sicilian pizza squares and crispy burrata with watermelon and honey.

Fresh seafood anchors much of the menu, with local oysters, lobster salad, tuna tacos, colossal shrimp cocktail, grilled octopus, baked clams oreganata and fried calamari casino among the offerings.

Pasta selections include bucatini pomodoro, spicy paccheri with vodka sauce, crab mafaldine, cavatelli carbonara and linguini vongole.

Entrées range from chicken Milanese and chicken Parmigiana to wild salmon, shrimp saltimbocca, eggplant Parmigiana and New York strip steak.

The beverage program features Mediterranean-inspired cocktails, including spritzes, margaritas and seasonal specialties such as the Private Plane to Amalfi, Summer Fling and Sandia Sour, along with a selection of nonalcoholic mocktails.

Amalfi at Claudio’s joins the property’s other businesses, including Claudio’s Waterfront, Saylor Beach House, Le Shack Beach boutique and Peter’s Pizza, as part of the Greenport waterfront destination.

The Claudio’s complex has also announced a lineup of summer events, including:

  • July 11: ’90s Night at Claudio’s Waterfront featuring live music by The Max Band followed by a DJ set.
  • July 12: Movie Night Under the Stars returns to Saylor Beach House, where guests can arrive by car, boat or on foot for a family-friendly waterfront movie.

  1. I started my cooking carrier over 47 yrs ago here, Indirect family owned. From washing dishes to pots. To prepping food for the cooks all from GP. I’ll just say Mr. Claudio is rolling in his Grave theses days. An the menu was based on all the local fish, shell fish (old oyster factory most don’t remember) and catch of the day. With fisherman bring there catch to the back door of the kitchen. (swordfish,Mako, stripped bass, blue fish ,sea bass, lobsters, clams, mussels, oysters etc). An all the produce coming in to from..Seps, wickham’s.Laycomes..etc..He was organic before it was fashionable. Now, commercialism swallowed up this small town and spit it out 5 times the cost of living. Locals pushed out, priced out .Change isn’t always good.

  2. Don’t get too excited; this guy has been tossed out of every other location he’s been at.
