Peconic Landing sent the summer of 2026 out with a bang Sunday night, as a massive crowd gathered on the lawn outside Brecknock Hall for the annual End of Summer Music and Fireworks Celebration — an evening of dancing, live music and one of the North Fork’s most dazzling fireworks displays. On assignment for the Sun, photojournalist Jeremy Garretson captured all the excitement in vivid colors.

Skyline, an eight-piece band playing hits across generations, took the stage at 6:30 p.m. and kept the crowd moving for nearly two hours, with plenty of Peconic Landing residents getting up to shake their hips on the dance floor.

Then, around 8:15 p.m., the music gave way to the main event: a spectacular Starfire Corporation fireworks show over Peconic Landing’s community pond, choreographed to music and lighting up the late-summer sky in brilliant bursts of color. The free community celebration, a Greenport tradition dating to 2012, regularly draws more than 1,000 people.
