On June 5 around 11 a.m., the dockmaster at the Mitchell Park Marina reported observing Gustavo Estrada-Ramirez, 51, with no known address, attempting to expose himself to a woman and her children in the park, according to police. The woman told responding officers that she was playing with her children in the park when Estrada-Rarimez approached her family and started unbuttoning his pants. She said she immediately turned away and tried to remove her children from the area. She said Estrada-Ramirez walked away after the incident. Estrada-Ramirez later returned to the park, where he was identified to police by the harbormaster and the mother. He denied exposing himself, and asked police to assist him in returning home to Guatemala. Police escorted him to the Guatemalan Consulate in Riverhead.  

Three days earlier, on June 2, Southold police responded to Mitchell Park for a report of three possibly intoxicated men urinating at the park. The three men, none of whom have known addresses, were interviewed and left the area without incident.

On June 2, the owner of a gas station in Laurel contacted police with surveillance video showing that a 46-year-old Peconic woman who has previously visited the gas station on a bicycle, stole loose change out of a tip jar earlier that day. The owner declined to press charges but wants her banned from the station. It was not immediately clear whether the owner signed a trespass order against the woman.

On June 3, residents near the corner of Skunk Lane and Eugenes Road in Cutchogue reported a man carrying a backpack and going through mailboxes in the area. Police located Noe Pacheco, 39, who matched the description, but denied going through mailboxes. Following a warrant check, Pacheco was released.

On June 3, police received complaints that Latricia Lawrence, 46, of Greenport was “possibly intoxicated, yelling racial slurs at a group of Hispanic males” in the Adams St. parking lot in Greenport. Additional calls reported that Lawrence was threatening to stab someone. According to police, responding officers repeatedly advised Lawrence to stop yelling and cursing, but she refused, and was subsequently arrested. Due to her level of intoxication, police said, Lawrence was transported to police headquarters until her blood alcohol level dropped and she could be released on an appearance ticket. The next day, Lawrence was allegedly involved in a fist fight with several men in the Adams. St. parking lot. The day after that, police received complaints that Lawrence was causing a disturbance outside of a Front St. restaurant.

On June 4, a Main Road business owner in Cutchogue reported the theft of 10 large urns from outside his establishment, worth about $1,000, police said. The business owner said the urns were removed sometime between June 2 and June 3, and that his security camera is currently not working. He was advised to get the camera repaired.

On June 4, a gas station owner on Main St. in Greenport reported that an intoxicated man was bothering his patrons. He told a responding officer that he did not want to press charges and only wanted the man removed from the premises. Police located the intoxicated man, who refused to provide a name or address. Police later determined the man’s name and that he has no known address. He was transported to the 5th St. beach without incident, according to police.

On June 4, a sailboat struck a North Ferry boat, though neither vessel was damaged. The captain of the ferry boat contacted police to say that while traveling north about halfway between Greenport and Shelter Island, a large sailboat sought to cross the ferry’s path. The ferry captain said the sailboat ignored repeated horn blasts, and the sterns of both boats struck each other. The sailboat captain returned to his mooring in Shelter Island Heights, inspected his boat and found no damage, before contacting police. He told authorities he believed he had the right of way, but that when the ferry boat continued on its course, the sailboat owner took “evasive” actions, but still struck the ferry. The sailboat owner was subsequently interviewed by Shelter Island police, who found no signs of impairment in the Shelter Island Heights sailor.

On the evening of June 4, police received reports of a fight in the Adams St. parking lot in Greenport. Responding officers said that all four parties involved refused to cooperate, and that one individual who sustained facial injuries was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
